The Conseil National des Barreaux would like to reiterate its support for the lawyer Lydienne Yen Eyoum, whose sentencing to 25 years imprisonment was confirmed by the Supreme Court of Cameroon on Tuesday 9th June. Technical cooperation: the Conseil National des Barreaux goes to Turkey at the invitation of the National Union of Turkish Bar Associations - 03/06/2015

On September 26th 2014, the National Union of Turkish Bar Associations and the French Embassy in Turkey signed a cooperation agreement, in the presence of the Conseil National des Barreaux, in order to implement a study on the organization of the legal profession in France. One of the study's main objectives – through the analysis of French legal practice – is to “identify the similarities and differences between the Turkish and French systems”. The agreement also stipulates that the aim of the partnership is to “strengthen effective cooperation between French and Turkish lawyers in order to improve the work they have in common” ...

In a ruling made on May 15th 2015, the Court of Arusha ordered the state of Burundi to reinstate Bar President Rufyikiri as a lawyer and ordered the Secretary General of the East African Community to do everything within its power to ensure that the state of Burundi’s ruling is carried out.
